Telemundo beefs up marketing & promotions.

Telemundo announced that Karen Barroeta has been named Senior Vice President, Marketing Creative, Telemundo. Barroeta will report to Susan Solano Vila, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Telemundo. Additionally, Carlos Collazo has been promoted to Vice President, On-Air Promotions, Telemundo, and will report to Barroeta.

In this newly created role, Barroeta will develop positioning for all program-specific and Telemundo brand advertising and promotion, overseeing the creative services teams. She will be responsible for leading the creative process and assuring implementation of creative strategies with cohesive messaging across all platforms. Barroeta’s work will drive continued ratings growth and audience share while building the Telemundo brand in both the domestic U.S. Hispanic and International markets.

Barroeta will continue to be responsible for the development of strategic marketing, promotions, communications and talent functions for Telemundo Internacional overseeing newly appointed Vice President of Marketing and Promotions, Alejandra Recasens. Recasens will report to Barroeta and Marcos Santana, Telemundo Internacional, President. Barroeta will also continue to oversee the marketing and promotions operation for Telemundo’s cable channel in Mexico under Santana’s leadership.
