El Piojo and El Chelis join ESPN Deportes.

Former soccer super stars Miguel “El Piojo” Herrera and José Luis Sánchez Solá “El Chelis” join the ESPN Deportes team as analysts of Fútbol Picante, the network’s Mexican soccer news program, which airs daily.

Rodolfo Martinez, Vice President of Production of ESPN International and ESPN Deportes, announced their addition to the program saying, “’El Piojo’ and ‘Chelis’ will provide an insider’s perspective of Mexican soccer.  Futbol Picante has been at the forefront offering unique programming to soccer fans.  ‘El Piojo’ and ‘Chelis’ bring a new perspective to the show, they’re fresh and their analysis will be unparallel.”

Miguel Herrera and José Luis Sánchez are two well-known figures in the world of Mexican soccer.  “El Piojo” is a former Mexican-First-Division-player-turned-coach whose teams have included Atlante, CF Monterrey, Pumas UNAM, CD Veracruz and TECOS UAG.

“El Chelis” has had a successful career as a coach with the professional Mexican soccer club Puebla FC, including a trip to the league’s semifinals after an 8-year drought.
