Patricia Torres-Burd named Executive Director of Content at PBS Houston.

HoustonPBS recently announced the appointment of Patricia Torres-Burd to the new position of Executive Director of Content. The station created the position to better coordinate content development and delivery across multiple platforms, including local, national and international initiatives.
Torres-Burd comes to HoustonPBS from Locke Bryan Productions, Inc., a local full service film and video company, where she has served as General Manager for the past two years, managing and overseeing their post production operations, creative development and production of client content for local and national commercials.
Prior to this, she spent a number of years in international broadcasting ventures. From 2004 to 2008 she was the VP of Programming and Branding for Latin America Broadcasting, Inc. where she was responsible for strategic development and the launch of LAT TV, a twenty-seven station low power broadcast network. From 2003 to 2004 Burd was the General Manager of RTV B92 in Serbia where she led the re-configuration and strategic development for this radio and television broadcaster. From 1995 to 2003, she worked in Central Eastern Europe for both Scandinavian Broadcasting Services (SBS) and Central European Media (CME) working in international media and station launch consulting with broadcast stations in Central and Eastern Europe.
Patricia is familiar face at KUHT. She served as unit director and series producer for the station from 1991 to 1995, producing, writing and directing weekly programs, as well as quarterly town meetings.
