Telemundo’s Caso Cerrado Edicion Estellar.

Telemundo announced that its Emmy-nominated, popular court show Caso Cerrado will premiere a Primetime special series in high definition as Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar. In its new set, the new season will premiere on September 29th at 7pm.

In its time period at 4pm, Caso Cerrado is the #1 program on Spanish-language television among Persons 2+ for 10 consecutive weeks and among Adults 18-49 during the week of September 6.

During the week of September 6, 2010, Caso Cerrado delivered an average of 632,000 viewers among Adults 18-49, outperforming Univision’s Gordo y la Flaca by +7% (592,000) and Telefutura’s Duelo de Pasiones by +345% (142,000) in the demographic.

The program has also delivered more total viewers (Persons 2+) than Gordo y la Flaca for 10 consecutive weeks. During the week of September 6, Caso Cerrado averaged 1,466,000 total viewers, outnumbering Gordo y la Flaca’s by 25% (1,175,000).

Caso Cerrado has increased its audience in the third quarter of 2010 year-over-year, while Telemundo’s competition has faced double-digit declines in the time period. Third quarter-to-date, Caso Cerrado is averaging 567,000 Adults 18-49, representing a +4% increase year-over-year (547,000). The program’s delivery among Women 18-49 has increased +9%, delivering 369,000 viewers in the demographic this quarter compared with the same period in 2009 (337,000). Plus, Caso Cerrado has delivered strong gains this quarter among total viewers. The show is averaging 1.4 million total viewers (Persons 2+) in the third quarter of 2010, a gain of +14% year-over-year (1.2 million). By comparison, the competition has experienced declines of 20% or more.

Caso Cerrado recently made history by becoming the first Spanish-language program to be nominated to a Daytime Entertainment Emmy. Its popular host, Dr. Ana Maria Polo, is one of the most loved personalities of Spanish-language television. With over 20 years of experience in practicing law, she has fought for equality and against discrimination, while surviving her own personal fight against cancer.
