The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) announced that it will present its first “CHLI Corporate Leadership Award” to Don Browne, President of Telemundo Communications Group, Inc., during its First Annual Corporate Leadership Luncheon on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC.
The CHLI Corporate Leadership Luncheon was established by the Board of Directors with direct input from its Corporate Advisory Council to recognize exemplary leadership within the business community. In turn, the “CHLI Corporate Leadership Award” honors distinguished corporate executives who provide exceptional leadership in advancing the U.S. Hispanic Community.
“The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute is honored to recognize Don Browne for his steadfast leadership and commitment throughout his corporate career in furthering Americans of Hispanic descent in senior management and executive positions,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28), CHLI Vice-Chairman.
“I am so honored to be recognized with the inaugural CHLI Corporate Leadership Award,” said Browne. “During my entire career I have been passionate and dedicated to recruiting, mentoring and promoting diverse talent at all levels of our business, both in front and behind the camera. When I joined Telemundo 7 years ago, the majority of senior management were not Hispanic and there were few women. I am proud to say that today the majority of our senior leaders are the most talented executives in the communications business who happen to be Hispanic and women.”
