Radio Esperanza partners with Futbol De Primera in Dallas/Ft. Worth for 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Futbol de Primera (FDP) will be broadcast live from South Africa exclusively by KTNO Radio Esperanza in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. FDP’s world renowned air personalities will provide live play by play and game analysis for the 45 days of the world competition. Bringing further highlight to the coverage will be KTNO Radio Esperanza’s own soccer expert and “the voice of soccer in Dallas, TX,” Jesus Padilla.

“The world will be tuning in to this event and our listeners now will be included.”

“KTNO is proud to be one of the 106 affiliated stations partnering to carry the Spanish language coverage of the World Cup,” said Padilla. “The world will be tuning in to this event and our listeners now will be included.” Station coverage began in January with live daily programs, appearances at major soccer events and sports features with soccer content available on KTNOAM.com.

In related news, KTNO Radio Esperanza recently named Padilla as its Director of Sports. Jesus is a recognized soccer journalist with over 15 years’ experience as a Hispanic reporter and anchor as well as marketing professional within radio, television and print media. His experience includes positions with ESPN Deportes, Clear Channel Communications, Azeteca America TV, and Novedades and El Heraldo News. As Director of Sports, Padilla will be responsible for all sports broadcasting and related marketing.

“KTNO is committed to leadership in Hispanic sports broadcasting,” said Dion Mortenson, KTNO Radio Esperenza and Dallas Radio Group Manager for Lexington, KY headquartered Mortenson Broadcasting Company (MBC). “With the excellent programming provided by FDP and the local connection Jesus will provide, we can deliver exciting content for listeners along with a valuable marketing opportunity for businesses in this market.”
