Telemundo launches Pro-Social Initiative.

Telemundo announced a collaboration with The Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs on a multi-platform campaign, entitled “En Busca de la Esperanza” (In Search of Hope). The campaign will launch to coincide with the premiere of the network’s newest original novela Donde Está Elisa? (Where is Elisa?), airing Monday-Friday at 10pm ET.

“This important partnership is the perfect example of how Telemundo’s unique original content model can leverage the power of Hispanic media,” said Don Browne, President, Telemundo. “A missing child is every parent’s worst nightmare. Being able to empower and arm our audiences with the necessary information about the critical issues that affect them is at the core of our network’s mission and commitment to the U.S. Hispanic community.”

The “En Busca de la Esperanza” campaign will include on-air announcements as well as information available at www.telemundo.com that will serve to educate interested parties about the resources available to assist in the recovery of missing children and initiatives addressing exploited children and children’s safety. In addition, leveraging Telemundo network’s assets, the campaign will be promoted on network properties including Al Rojo Vivo and Levantate as well as online. Telemundo talent will also promote the campaign and raise awareness at local events nationwide.

“Helping to keep children safe is one of our priorities and the Office of Justice Programs is pleased to join with Telemundo to tell parents, caregivers and others about the resources we have available,” said Laurie Robinson, Assistant Attorney General.
