Univision Communications Inc. announced that it has partnered with the American Red Cross to help support the fundraising efforts to help those impacted by the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Univision will utilize its national and local television and radio assets, as well as its online and mobile platforms to reach Hispanics interested in contributing to the relief efforts.
“The people of Haiti have suffered unimaginable devastation and are in dire need of assistance. We have partnered with the American Red Cross to inform the caring and generous Hispanic community in the U.S. on how they can contribute to the disaster relief effort,” said Joe Uva, president and CEO, Univision Communications Inc.
“The generous contribution of Univision is critical to the ability of the American Red Cross to provide help and hope for the people of Haiti during their time of need,” said Gail McGovern, president and CEO of the American Red Cross. “We are rushing supplies and disaster management staff to Haiti in the aftermath of this earthquake, and are very grateful for the support of Univision for our humanitarian mission.”
As part of the extensive, multi-platform effort, the Univision networks are leveraging their cross-promotion capabilities to promote the fundraising campaign through public service announcements and special reports live from Haiti and from prominent Haitian communities in the U.S.
