As part of NBC Universal’s “Green Is Universal” campaign, mun2 kicks off Green Week with eco-friendly on-air and online content. Starting November 16th through November 22nd, the network will feature environmentally-themed programming and eco-friendly strategies across its television and digital platforms.
On Monday November 16th at 6pmET/PT, mun2 airs the fourth installment in the network’s Peabody award-winning news specials, Toxic City: This is Where I Live. The half-hour special is an exploration of Latino communities disproportionately affected by environmental hazards and the young activists working for change in those communities. Toxic City: This is Where I Live features interviews and commentary with environmental experts including Erin Brockovich and directors at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
On Tuesday November 17th at 6pmET/PT, The mun2 Shuffle unveils some of the country’s “greenest” restaurants including Fort Lauderdale’s organic, eco-friendly restaurant, Pizza Fusion. Other green-themed mun2 programming includes 18 & Over (Monday November 16th at 6:30pmET/PT & Friday November 20th at 6:30pmET/PT) and Reventon Countdown (Tuesday November 17th at 10amET/PT).
Throughout the week, mun2’s digital platform holamun2.com will participate in NBC Universal’s “Green Counts Here” campaign by inviting mun2 audiences to pledge to unplug their cell phone chargers. A running tally of these pledges will be featured on the website’s homepage and the sum will illustrate to users the collective impact of their environmentally friendly actions.
Viewers will also enjoy the website’s originally-produced green-themed vignette featuring pin-up girl Vida Guerra. Visit holamun2.com/candy/original/vida-guerra-hot-wet-and-clean for a lesson on global warming as the provocative spokesperson touches on renewable and clean energy.
