Lamadrid named VP of Specials at Telemundo.

Telemundo announced that Pilar Lamadrid has been named Vice President of Specials. Lamadrid will report to Derek Bond, SEVP, Studios, Production & Broadcast Operations.
“Pilar has a strong track record of developing and producing spectacular special programming for Telemundo,” said Bond. “This opportunity is well deserved, and her experience and leadership will further ensure the continued success of our award-winning programming division.”
As Vice President, Specials, Lamadrid will oversee original productions and acquired entertainment specials. Her focus will be on the growth of the department, working with her team to capitalize on the use of multiple platforms for new and existing properties, with a particular emphasis on developing greater opportunities for creative sponsorship integrations. Lamadrid will continue to be responsible for Telemundo’s simulcast of Miss Universe, production of Camino a la Corona and La Alfrombra Roja de Premios Billboard (Latin Billboard Awards red carpet pre-show) and production logistics and staffing for Premios Billboard. Miguel Chacon, Executive Producer and Yolanda Casaprima, Line Producer will report directly to her.
Most recently, Lamadrid served as Director for Specials at Telemundo, a position she held since May 2001. She held the title Executive Producer from 1998-2001. In that time, Lamadrid produced the primetime one-hour entertainment news program Edición Especial, developed and launched Telemundo’s weekday one-hour entertainment news/gossip program Cotorreando, and produced numerous specials including the Emmy winning specials La Silla Caliente de Edición Especial and Dinastías del Espectáculo.
