Exitos 93.9 FM in LA enjoys audience growth.

Exitos 93.9FM (KXOS) continued to score big with Hispanic listeners by doubling its total share of listeners in the September Arbitron ratings, moving from the eighth position to a tie as the Number Three Spanish language station in the country’s top Hispanic market.

Operated by Mexican broadcaster Grupo Radio Centro (GRC), Exitos saw its overall monthly audience share double from 1% in June to 2% in September with an average weekly cumulative audience of more than 1 million.

“We are very pleased that our strong emphasis on popular music from the 80’s, 90’s and today has clicked with Southern California radio listeners,” said Carlos Aguirre, chief executive officer of GRC. “This significant growth in our ratings verifies our belief that the market was ready for a format like ours, and we will continue to provide our listeners with the music and promotions they want.”

Exitos scored big across all key demographic sectors by increasing its ratings share from May to September by 50% with all adults 18-34; 100% with women 18-49; and 50% with adults 25-54.

“We’ve seen a steady increase in our audience numbers every month since our launch in April, and we want to thank our listeners throughout Southern California for their enthusiastic support of our station,” Aguirre said.
