El Sueño de tu Vida players to battle Club America’s Reserve Pros.

Eighteen of the nation’s top amateur soccer players will participate in the Second Annual Verizon Wireless National All-Star Game for the chance of a professional contract. “El Sueño de tu Vida” 2009 national finalists will face Mexico’s famed Club America’s reserves at California State University’s Titan Stadium in Fullerton on October 24 at 7pm. Produced by Alianza de Futbol Hispano, in partnership with Verizon Wireless, Fox Sports en Español, and Sears, the dream match is the culmination of a seven month, ten-city talent search.

“On the heels of our most successful edition of the ‘El Sueño de tu Vida’ talent search to date, this year’s star-studded All-Star Game will not only delight fans of the game but will also bring some of the country’s most promising amateur talent that much closer to fulfilling their dream of a professional soccer career,” said Alianza de Futbol Owner Brad Rothenberg. “Thanks to the long-standing commitment of our sponsors and partners, Alianza de Futbol and ‘El Sueño de tu Vida’ will continue to reign as the nation’s preeminent Hispanic soccer talent competition.”

The All-Star Game will be broadcasted nationally by Fox Sports en Español with a half-hour pre-game special on Sunday, October 25, at 3:30pm EDT (12:30pm PDT). Additional Alianza de Futbol sponsors include The Hispanic College Fund, Monster Energy and Southwest Airlines.

Leading up to the once-in-a-lifetime match, the 18 youth amateurs will be pushed to their limits during All-Star Week training sessions by the legendary Daniel “El Ruso” Brailovsky, former Club America standout and one of the sport’s most respected coaches and analysts. All training sessions and the All-Star Game will be attended by top North American scouts from Club America, Chivas de Guadalajara, Tigres, Santos Laguna, Puebla, and Chivas USA. Scouts will be on the lookout for players that demonstrate the skills, passion and dedication to become a professional player.

This year, more than 3,300 amateur soccer players tried out during private scouting sessions held in Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and El Paso. The 18 “El Sueño de tu Vida” national finalists represent some of the most promising participants and each will have one final week during which to impress the scouts. Over the past 16 months, seven Alianza de Futbol players signed with professional teams; 46 additional players have been extended formal invitations for try outs in Mexico and stateside with MLS.
