Alvarez named Creative Director @ d expósito & Partners.

Danilo Alvarez has been named Creative Director of d exposito & Partners, LLC. The announcement was made by Jorge Ulla, agency Partner/Chief Ideation Officer, who praised “the forward-thinking approach of Alvarez, his non-traditional nature and his appetite for ongoing digital opportunities.

Since then, he has gained solid experience working for a variety of products, services and brands. He decided to explore the world and eventually landed in Miami, where, within a few weeks he was hired to work for Bates Latin America as a senior writer for Mercedes-Benz, Wendy’s, Purina and Time Magazine. That year, Bates was the most awarded agency in the local and regional Addys, and was featured on the cover of the important Hispanic Advertising magazine, P&C.

His next position was Group Creative Director at AccentMarketing, where he developed award-winning creative for the U.S. Navy and Dewar’s 12 Whiskey. Almost three years later, he was snatched (literally!) by Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group to lead all their Hispanic communications efforts. Disney’s strong belief in, and dedication to, consumer research and insights mining, afforded Danilo the opportunity to hone his skills in the area of Strategic Planning. As a client wrote, “Danilo can master the art of converting a consumer insight into breakthrough advertising.” He also assimilated some key learnings from the full spectrum of Hispanic consumers, which has proven invaluable to his ascending career.

In 2005 he was offered a position as Associate Creative Director at The Bravo Group, a Young & Rubicam/WPP Company, writing for Jell-O, Miller Lite, Listerine and Chevron. After two years of working at Bravo, Danilo opened his own non-traditional creative/consultancy shop, Alerta, where he developed strategic and insightful work for edgy brands like Xbox, Zune and, again, Disney. He started a freelance collaboration with d expósito & Partners around this time.

“We are excited to see Danilo entering the fray in the context of our New American Agency vision of the market,” added Ulla, who remarked that Alvarez doesn’t think out of the box, simply because for him there is no box.”

Alvarez will lead creative work for McDonald’s, U.S. Census 2010, Amway Global, Anheuser-Busch/In Bev, NYC & Co., MAZDA and ConAgra Foods, among other brands.
