July 3, 2009
WXTV Univision 41, the New York tri-state Univision affiliate, celebrates its 41st anniversary, “Los 41 del 41”, August 3-7, 2009 via a series of tri-state oriented events planned to commemorate this milestone for the station.
WXTV Univision 41, owned and operated by Univision, began broadcasting in August 4, of 1968 and has forged a bond of respect, trust and community with the Hispanic viewers in the New York tri-state area. WXTV 41 is also the only Spanish-language television station in the New York tri-state area to continually air, since its inception, a Monday-Friday early morning newscast, and this year saw WXTV’s news broadcast, “Noticias 41”(News 41) earn five Emmy Awards and two Edward R. Morrow Awards, more than any other Spanish-language television outlet in the area. WXTV’s early evening newscast was the #2 highest-rated among Adults 18-49 in the country, regardless of language English or Spanish, and behind only Univision’s Los Angeles station, KMEX for the first half of 2009.
