Carl Kravetz to receive Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award.

Carl Kravetz, Publisher of VidaySalud.com” and past Chairman of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, is the recipient of the 5th Annual Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award in recognition of his leadership in the development of the Hispanic Marketing Industry. The award will be presented by the James J. Hill Reference Library and Aguilar Productions on June 17th in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the 5th Annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Awards. Previous recipients of the award are Hector Orcí, Alex López Negrete, Daisy Expósito and Joe Zubizarreta.

Kravetz came to the U.S. in 1985 from Noble y Asociados in Mexico City. During his 24 years in U.S. Hispanic advertising, Kravetz founded two agencies. Ferrer/Ad Américas – the precursor to Castells & Asociados – was started as a joint venture between Mexico’s Grupo Ferrer and Los Angeles-based DJMC (now Davis Ellen). Kravetz managed the agency for five years before founding cruz/kravetz:IDEAS in 1991 with his late partner, Tony Cruz. Over the years, his clients have included Procter & Gamble, Bacardí, Purina, Mennen, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc, Toyota, McDonald’s, Coca Cola, Lincoln Mercury, Kraft Foods, Citibank, Cigna, Denny’s, Disney Channel, Fox Cable, El Pollo Loco, H & R Block, Banamex and Bancomer. The agency is now managed by Maite D’Amico.

Kravetz was also a founder of The Neighborhood LLC, a multicultural medical education firm. The New York-based company worked with Sanofi-Aventis, Bayer and Abbott Laboratories, among others.

During his tenure as Chairman of AHAA, the Association launched its landmark Latino Identity Project, bridging academic and business research to paint a picture of a diverse, complex, vibrant Hispanic community defined by culture, rather than language. Kravetz was also a Board member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and authored its “Client Guide to Hispanic Marketing.”

Kravetz is now an entrepreneur, creating Latino ventures in information and education. The first, founded in partnership with his wife, Univision’s Dra. Aliza Lifshitz, is Spanish-language health hub VidaySalud.com”.
