Lápiz Hispanic Marketing has won a Bronze award at the 88th Annual Art Director’s Club (ADC) Gala on April 30 th for their Pepto-Bismol creative work. Each year, the ADC Annual Awards competition identifies and honors the best work of the year in visual communications, spanning all areas of print and broadcast advertising, interactive media, graphic design, publication design, packaging, photography and illustration.
The award was given to “Empanada,” a spot that Lápiz developed for Pepto-Bismol as part of a campaign that focuses on the love and hate relationship that often occurs with the foods Hispanics love the most. In the melodramic spot, “Empanada,” a woman and a mean empanada portray this love & hate relationship.
Along with “Empanda” a second spot “Cheesecake” was developed as part of the Love and Hate campaign. Recently, both spots won a Silver Hugo Award in the consumer products category. The Hugo Television Awards honor important events, beloved personalities, and inspiring ideas that shape unforgettable moments of television.
“These recognitions make us very happy,” said Jose Funegra, Associate Creative Director of Lápiz. “They motivate us to stay faithful to our principles, basically because this campaign consists of things we firmly believe in; from the strategic side, it is based on a profound and irrefutable human truth. In terms of creative development, the campaign represents a search and a process: freshness, impact and excellence in craft. ”
