Plasencia of República honored at Miami Dade College Alumni Hall of Fame Gala.

Jorge A. Plasencia, chairman and CEO of República was inducted into Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Hall of Fame. The event was held in Miami on Thursday, April 16, 2009.

With nearly two decades of experience in the media, entertainment and sports industries, Plasencia was recognized for his vast professional and civic accomplishments.

MDC’s Alumni Hall of Fame honorees are among the nation’s premier business leaders, journalists and educators. Through their work and dedication, these former students have become some of the most influential leaders and have had a positive impact in their fields, the College and the community.

“To be among these intelligent and dedicated professionals whose work I admire is truly an inspiration; I’m humbled and honored to be inducted into MDC’s prestigious Hall of Fame,” Plasencia said.

Plasencia, who serves on board of the Miami Dade College Foundation, is also on the executive board of the National Council of La Raza and the advisory board of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute, among others.
