Univision’s audience grows & English-Language Networks decline.

With the March 2009 Sweep period coming to an end, the Univision Television Network has once again bucked the trend of viewer erosion, reporting an audience growth of +5% among Adults 18-49 with over 2 million viewers – and that’s among all viewers, not just Hispanics. In comparison, the average audience of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW declined by -3% among Adults 18-49 versus the February 2008 Sweep period.

According to Nielsen’s National People Meter (NPM), Univision ranked as the #4 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-34 (1,186,000) and Persons 12-34 (1,392,000), beating NBC and CW. During this very competitive sweep period, Univision also maintained its position as the nation’s 5th broadcast network among Total Viewers 2+ (3,975,000 ) and Adults 18-49 (2,141,000), beating CW.

“We are extremely proud of our continued success and the consistent audience growth experienced by our network,” said Alina Falcón, executive vice president and operating manager of the Univision Network. “Our connection with viewers and their loyalty to our brand clearly set us aside from competitors, making Univision the perfect platform for marketers to reach this coveted audience.”
