Fútbol de Primera signs SBS’s WPAT 93.1 AMOR FM as its World Cup & Mexican National Team Affiliate.

Fútbol de Primera, home of the most important soccer radio rights in the world, including FIFA 2010 and 2014 World Cups, CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Mexican National Team, and CONCACAF’s Gold Cup, announced today a broadcasting agreement with Spanish Broadcasting System’s, 93.1 AMOR FM. The extraordinary addition of 93.1 AMOR FM in New York rounds out FDP’s affiliate list to 96 stations, including 35 FM’s. Now the World Cup and the games of the Mexican National Team will also be heard on one of the most traditional FM radio stations in the tri-state area, home to a vibrant and diverse Hispanic community.

The agreement includes the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa starting June 11, 2010 along with the Mexican National Team games for the 2009-2010 seasons. World Cup enthusiasts stateside are eager as the most anticipated sporting event in the world quickly approaches. Fans in the tri-state area will now be able to listen to critical qualifying match-ups between Mexico and the US National Team as well as Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Trinidad and Tobago on 93.1 AMOR FM.

93.1 AMOR FM’s first broadcast under the FDP affiliate agreement will be the FIFA World Cup Qualifying match in Mexico City, between the Mexican National Team and Costa Rica on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. EST. This game will be broadcast live over Fútbol de Primera’s 96 station line-up.
