Raul de Quesada, Assistant General Manager and Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services for Fox Sports en Espanol and Fox Soccer Channel, will be recognized this year for a career of outstanding personal and professional achievements. In April of this year, Raul will be inducted into the Miami High School Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the inaugural class and will also be honored by his undergraduate alma mater, receiving the Florida International University (FIU) Medallion, bestowed upon outstanding alumni.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by these exemplary institutions,” said Raul. “I’m proud to be affiliated with Miami Senior High School and Florida International University, and will continue to dedicate my efforts to their ongoing success.”

Raul will be inducted into the first class of Miami Basketball Hall of Fame on April 18th. The prestigious group of inductees will include Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat and coaching legend Vince Schaefer, along with Gene Bennett, Pete Silas and Douglas Edwards who, like Raul, were all-state and All American selections during their Miami High playing careers. On April 27th, Florida International University will honor Raul at their Spring Commencement ceremony.

Throughout his professional career, Raul’s leadership has led the organizations he has worked for to augment their efforts in promoting diversity and community; the current networks he is with are no exception. Fox Soccer Channel has donated time and resources to such varied organizations as the U.S. Soccer Foundation “Streets to Fields” Gala, Soccer for Peace Cup, Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association and Malaria No More. Similarly, Fox Sports en Espanol has launched many initiatives that are crucial to rebuilding and supporting communities in need, including: the Latino Student Athlete of the Year, Every Goal Saves a Life, Copa Alianza: El Sueno de tu Vida and Green Bags for a Green Earth.

Born in Camaguey, Cuba, Raul has long believed in giving back to the communities that have supported him in reaching personal and professional success. Early in his career, he was honored by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare with the Diploma of Honor Lincoln-Marti for his valuable contributions to the Cuban refugee program. Raul has also served as Director and active member for the past 30 years of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, and has been an active member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity In Communications (NAMIC) for 11 years.
