PBS’ Latin Music USA looking for a sponsor.

The Sponsorship Group for Public Television (SGPTV) has announced the availability of a multi-media sponsorship opportunity for Latin Music USA, a genre-defining television event airing on PBS in October during Hispanic Heritage Month. The new series, produced by WGBH Boston in partnership with the BBC, offers English and Spanish-language exposure on the air, online, in print and in the community. Latin Music USA also features a partnership with the Spanish language network V-me, which will broadcast Latin Music USA to a national audience immediately following the PBS premiere. The two-part special, airing on consecutive nights, will feature stories from celebrated Latinos including Ricky Martin, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Marc Anthony, and Shakira.
“We’re excited to bring this unique sponsorship opportunity to the marketplace,” said Suzanne Zellner, Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships, at WGBH Boston. “With exposure across multiple platforms, national sponsorship signals a company’s clear commitment to the Hispanic community and attaches their names to what will certainly be one of the most significant series ever produced about the influence of Latin music on American culture.”
Sponsors will receive visibility on the television series, on podcasts and throughout an ambitious Latin Music USA web site, and at all Latin Music USA events, from Capitol Hill to a series of community-based events.
A Spanish-language Latin Music USA broadcast on V-me will immediately follow the public television broadcast, and will provide national sponsors with on-air spots on the fast-growing Spanish-language television network.
Latin Music USA has also joined with the Smithsonian Institution to develop a celebration of Latinos and Latino culture in the United States, centering on a discussion and reception at the newly renovated National Museum of Natural History. The program will feature a symposium about Latin Music USA and will include program producers, artists, music historians and others who will talk about the film and featured artists.
“Our vision for this project has always been ambitious – to extend to multiple platforms in both English and Spanish, and to invite as many people as possible to celebrate Latin music and the rise of Latino culture in the United States,” says Elizabeth Deane, series executive producer. “The collaborations with both V-me and the Smithsonian Institution have certainly brought our goals to fruition.”
