WAPA America debuts a cooking show.
January 12, 2009
Cielito, What’s Cooking?, premiers exclusively on WAPA America, marking the first time the Puerto Rican network has created a program exclusively for its sister channel in the United States.
In her new half-hour primetime show, Cielito will teach viewers how to cook in today’s fast-paced environment where busy schedules have led people away from the kitchen. Viewers will learn how to create comida criolla, typical Puerto Rican dishes, in a fun, budget-friendly fashion. Each show will present three recipes, such as pasta with pumpkin sauce, green salad with zucchini, cranberry and goat cheese dressing, and a pumpkin/coconut dessert.
“This is exciting news for WAPA America, as this is the first program WAPA Television has produced exclusively for the U.S. market,” said Joe Ramos, president of WAPA Television. “By creating a program specifically for WAPA America, we can design it to be relevant and appealing for our varied U.S. Hispanic audience.”
Cielito, What’s Cooking? will begin airing on WAPA America on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. EST with a chocolate-themed show for Valentine’s Day. New episodes will air Saturdays and Sundays at 6:00 p.m. EST.
