Terra TV goes mobile in the U.S. and LatAM.

Terra is expanding its distribution of multimedia content with a special mobile edition of Terra.com and Terra TV for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Available beginning today, the mobile feature available at m.terratv.terra.com, marks the February component of Terra’s year-long relaunch entitled the Atom Project. Since its January debut, the Atom Project has already led to a 20 percent increase in Terra TV page views.

The mobile edition of Terra.com and Terra TV allows users to stay tuned-in even when they are on-the-go. They can get the latest in news, sports and entertainment, including special videos on Carnival and European soccer championships, as well as content from Reuters, SNTV and OMNISPORT.

“iPhone users in Latin America surf three times more than those with ordinary mobile phones, and they tend to be most interested in sports and news. With the mobile edition of Terra.com and Terra TV, we are offering the opportunity to access a wealth of content on cell phones, anytime, anyplace,” said Fernando Madeira, CEO of Terra Latin America.

On the 7th day of every month throughout 2009, Terra will continue to introduce new features to revolutionize the digital experience for its users. The next feature to be unveiled as part of the Atom Project will be Terra TV specials on the Formula 1 races (debuting February 18th) and live streams from the 2009 Carnival in Salvador, Bahia – Brazil (debuting February 11th). The broadcasts will be viewable in 18 countries on two exclusive channels. In 2008 alone, there were 13 million streams from Terra.com, users watched 220,000 hours of videos and more than 7,000 photos were viewed.

In its entirety, the Atom Project is designed to offer users increased interactivity, personalization and accessibility across all 18 countries in which Terra is present, including Latin America and the United States.
