Boost Mobile cuts international rates to Mexico and drops long distance fees to Puerto Rico.
January 2, 2009
Boost Mobile launched a new low flat rate for international calls made to landlines in major cities in Mexico and eliminated international charges for calls to Puerto Rico. Boost customers making calls to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey will only be charged a rate of two cents per minute plus standard airtime. Customers will also have the convenience of calling internationally directly from their handsets and without the use of international calling cards.
“Boost Mobile defines value to a growing number of Latinos who want quality wireless service without a contract,” said Mirna Aceituno, manager of Hispanic marketing for Boost Mobile. “And with these rate reductions, Boost is now a more compelling alternative to landline long distance for anyone who frequently calls Mexico and Puerto Rico.”
Boost offers flexible service billing options – including an anytime rate of 10 cents per minute, the $1/Day Chat Plan and the industry-changing new $50 Monthly Unlimited plan. The new Monthly Unlimited plan now includes unlimited voice calls to Puerto Rico and unlimited walkie-talkie calls to Baja California at no additional fee. Boost Mobile’s walkie-talkie service is fully compatible with Nextel’s Direct Connect radio service in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru. As with all Boost Mobile Pay As You Go handsets, there are no credit checks, hidden charges or monthly bills.
