Azteca America sets the record straight on Mexican First Division Soccer League rights.

Azteca America announced that it continues to be the “Casa del Futbol Mexicano” with exclusive broadcast television rights for five of the most dynamic teams of the FLM First Division league for the 2009 Closing Season with La Liga Azteca, Fútbol Mexicano Presentado por Coors Light.

The season will include exclusive broadcasts of last season’s runner up, Cruz Azul, as well as Azteca’s own Monarcas Morela, plus Puebla, Jaguares and Indios with an eye on repeating the network’s success of three teams in last season’s quarterfinals, two teams in the semifinals and the live exclusive broadcast of the Opening Season final opener.

The network will air over 40 games for the current season. Azteca America also has guaranteed exclusive rights to the playoff cycle, including wild card, quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches depending on the success of the five teams.

“We’re excited to once again combine our stellar play-by-play transmissions featuring Carlos Guerrero and Paco González with some of the top sports analysts of Mexican soccer, including Luis Omar Tapia, Emilio Fernando Alonso and Jorge Campos,” said Alberto Santini, EVP of Programming and Production.
