Sixth Edition of InterLiga on Fox Sports en Espanol.

Fox Sports en Espanol announced the schedule for its live telecasts of the InterLiga tournament, the only all-Mexican professional club soccer tournament played entirely on U.S. soil. Exclusive Spanish-language coverage of InterLiga kicked off on Fox Sports en Espanol on January 2nd and includes a total of 14 matches. The tournament will take place in Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles.

“We are extremely proud to bring our viewers this exciting tournament for the 6th consecutive year,” said David Sternberg, General Manager & Executive Vice President of Fox Sports International. “I can’t think of a better way to kick-start 2009; presenting the first Super Clasico on January 3rd featuring the Chivas vs. America match.”

The eight participating teams competing in InterLiga 2009 include: Group A — 2008 Mexican Apertura champions, Toluca, as well as UAG, Morelia, Pachuca and Group B — Tigres UANL, CD Guadalajara, Atlas and America. Fox Sports en Espanol will have a live remote show hosted by Alejandro Luna prior to broadcasting the live action from InterLiga, which will also feature commentaries by Jorge Ramos, Elmur Souza and Hernan Pereyra.

“As my first project for 2009, I am thrilled to host the pre-game show for InterLiga,” commented Alejandro Luna, host for Fox Sports en Espanol. “I am honored to bring Hispanics across the nation the play-by-play of such a hotly-contested tournament.”
