La Comunidad celebrates 10 year Anniversary in the Amazon.

La Comunidad announced that it’s celebrating its ten-year anniversary in an untraditional fashion-by sending two of its creatives to the middle of the Amazon.

A representative from each office will hit the road to traverse the 4,414 miles which separate-and also unite-La Comunidad’s offices in Miami and Buenos Aires. They’ll meet each other at the exact halfway point, smack dab in the middle of Latin America.

Chelsea Cumings, an art director based in Miami, and Leandro Mosca, an art director from Buenos Aires, will meet at a border area known as the “tres fronteras” in South America-right in the middle of a remote stretch of the Amazon River where the frontiers of Colombia, Peru, and Brazil meet. Once there, they’ll participate in a range of secret missions over a period of ten days, documenting all their daily adventures in a dedicated blog at lacomunidad.com/meetmehalfway as well as La Comunidad’s social media profiles with video, photos and writings.

The announcement comes as the agency marks its ten-year anniversary, having been founded in 2001 by brothers Jose and Joaquin Molla and later adding Antoinette Zel as a partner and CEO.

“We’re celebrating La Comunidad’s first ten years, and a big part of our success has to do with the collaboration between our offices,” said Jose Molla, co-founder and co-creative officer of La Comunidad. “We always help make each other better. Meeting half way is a tribute to this collaborative spirit.”

Also as part of its ten year anniversary, La Comunidad will launch a new website and blog, a revamped logo, a new internship program and an artistic renovation of its office headquarters in Miami aligned with its international art gallery ThisIsNotAGallery.
