Spanish Language Radio’s Unique History

In Celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, Arbitron is proud to debut a new study created in partnership with the Center for Spanish Language Media at the University of North Texas. The Center, run by Dr. Alan Albarran, PhD., is housed within UNT’s  award winning Department of Radio, Television and Film, recognized as one of the nation’s top eight programs for broadcasting and film.

With Arbitron’s support, the Center has completed the valuable “History of Spanish-Language Radio” research report that chronicles Spanish-Language radio’s rise in the US.   This study is a part of the many programs that Arbitron participates in annually that have a positive impact in the community .

We at Arbitron are proud of our support of programs and organizations such as UNT’s Center for Spanish Language Media, that address social progress, media industry success, and education. This research report reveals and important story of the rise of Spanish language Radio in the United states and it is our honor to have  helped  make this research report possible.
