Sternberg joins ESPN International as Vice President Digital Media.

Scott Sternberg, senior director, business development at Yahoo!, has joined ESPN International as vice president, International Digital Media, it was announced by Arne Rees, Vice President, International Development.

Sternberg, who has nearly 20 years of media, technology and telecom executive experience, will work on the development and growth of ESPN’s international web, wireless and broadband businesses. He will be based at ESPN’s New York and Bristol offices and report to Rees.

“Scott’s extensive background within large, global media environments will be a tremendous asset to ESPN as we continue to grow our international new media businesses,” said Rees.

At Yahoo!, Sternberg worked on many of the company’s key initiatives. He led the partnership with SBC Communications (2002-2005), managed business development and product strategy for Yahoo!’s partnership with FIFA and the creation of www.fifaworldcup.com http://www.fifaworldcup.com/> (2005-2006). He also worked on many of its key publisher partnerships (2007- 2008).
