NAMIC announces call for 2009 Next Generation Leaders Award Nominations.

NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications) announced its call for nominations for the 2009 Next Generation Leaders Awards. Since its inception in 2006, the Next Generation Leaders Awards program has emerged as a highly anticipated competition. Presented as part of the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast held during Cable Connection-Spring, this year’s Annual Awards
Breakfast is scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC.

“NAMIC has taken the lead in ensuring that our industry has a strong pipeline of diverse executives through our education and mentoring initiatives. We are pleased to facilitate a program that recognizes today’s
emerging leaders of color that share our mission of achieving a multi-ethnic workforce by promoting diversity in all aspects of their business,” said Kathy Johnson, president, NAMIC.

Presented in three categories: Cable MSO, Cable Programmer and Technology Company or Discipline, the Next Generation Leaders Awards recognize the industry’s up-and-coming business leaders who reflect and embrace NAMIC’s mission to educate, advocate and empower for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry. Executives of color age 45 or under representing a cable MSO, Cable Programming Network or Technology Company are eligible. The deadline for nominations is February 13, 2009.
