Al Garcia-Serra recognized in the Hispanic Business Magazine EOY Award.

Al Garcia-Serra, COO/Co-Chairman, Machado/Garcia-Serra Communications (MGS), has been recognized in the Hispanic Business Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Award, in the Trade Industry category. The announcement was made during the 18th annual awards gala held November 6 in Los Angeles, honoring entrepreneurial excellence in the U.S. Hispanic market.

An industry trailblazer, Al is recognized in the business community for his vision and leadership, over the past 40 years, in identifying the potential of Hispanic marketing and connecting U.S. brands with multi-ethnic consumers. At MGS, he is the driving force behind the firm’s structure, operations, and profitability; where he has led the agency from a start-up ad shop, less than five years ago, to one of the top 10 independently-owned multicultural communications agencies in the nation.
“It is an honor to be selected and recognized by Hispanic Business alongside other exceptional Hispanic professionals and entrepreneurs. Hispanic marketing has clearly reached a new threshold, driving much of the growth across all industry sectors. This brings remarkable business opportunities for our Clients, our Industry and our Agency.” said Garcia-Serra.

In addition to the prestigious Hispanic Business EOY Award, MGS was named in the “2008 Hispanic Business 500 Largest US Hispanic-Owned Companies”, 20 years after Garcia-Serra’s first advertising agency founded in 1982, Garcia-Serra Blanco (GSB), was recognized by Hispanic Business as the fastest growing company in 1987.

“The recipients of the EOY Awards personify the progress of Hispanic enterprise in the United States. Garcia-Serra’s accomplishments not only show his vision and leadership, but are a strong testament of the economic power of the U.S. Hispanic market,” said Jesus Chavarria, CEO of Hispanic Business.

Garcia-Serra has built and run some of the most successful and prestigious advertising agencies, including GSB:LINTAS where he occupied the position of CEO. A true visionary, he has held senior level positions on the corporate side, such as Flagler Federal where he spearheaded the financial center’s first Hispanic marketing effort over three decades ago, considered breakthrough at the time. In 2003, he joined forces with Manuel E. Machado to form Machado/Garcia Serra Communications (MGS) – a national, multicultural, integrated marketing communications agency.
