The American Heart Association selects alPunto Advertising as Hispanic AOR.

After an agency search lasting over 6 months the American Heart Association Western States Affiliate has selected alPunto Advertising of Tustin, CA as its Hispanic agency of record. The agency will be working on a Latino Stroke Awareness Campaign. The assignment includes strategic planning, creative development, media planning and buying and educational program development.

The pitch to become the selected agency included presentations of agency capabilities as well as development and presentation of insights concerning the target, the barriers, issues and beliefs as they relate to major illnesses and stroke.

The Latino Stroke Awareness Program has been designed to inform the Hispanic community of what stroke is, how to recognize symptoms and how to live a lifestyle that will prevent stroke. Hispanics are at risk of stroke due to high incidence of some major risk factors, including Diabetes, Obesity and High Cholesterol.

alPunto’s work on this effort has already started through logo development and identification of most appropriate communication pieces to use. alPunto will work on media and publicity plans, creative development and production.

“The agency has demonstrated a deep understanding of Latinos and the issues related to their overall health and well being. Their capabilities for strategic planning and fast turn around are also well documented,” said Lisa Jones Barker, Senior Vice President of Health Strategies for the American Heart Association.

According to alPunto Advertising’s Chief Business Strategist, Enrique Turegano, “We are delighted to have been selected by the American Heart Association as their Hispanic agency. alPunto has always been proactively involved in our community, especially in the area of healthcare and prevention. This is a very important effort that will inform Latinos about a serious risk. We will tell them about it, tell them what to do about it, and also inform them on how to prevent stroke through healthy and active lifestyles. We are proud to be serving our community through this cause.”
