Three of the most influential Hispanic executives at Fox were honored this past Thursday by The Imagen Foundation, for their contribution to the positive portrayal of Hispanics in media. Raul de Quesada, Assistant General Manager and Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services; Emiliano Calemzuk, President of Fox Television Studios; and Claudia Teran, Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Fox Cable Networks, were all honored at The Imagen Awards for being among the most powerful and influential Latinos in the entertainment industry. Established in 1985, The Imagen Foundation is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing the positive portrayals of Latinos in the entertainment industry, and celebrates its annual Imagen Awards ceremony in Beverly Hills, California.
“To be recognized by The Imagen Foundation is an honor, not just as an individual but for the company I represent and specifically all the members of my team. We at Fox Sports en Espanol have proven our commitment to the Hispanic community in the United States throughout the years, and are proud to continue celebrating our Hispanic heritage,” said Raul de Quesada.
Raul has been a part of the Fox Sports family since 1998, when he joined as Director of Marketing and Communications. Among his great achievements since starting at Fox Sports International is the successful rebranding of Fox Sports Latin America (originally Fox Sports Americas), Fox Sports en Espanol (originally Fox Sports World Espanol) and Fox Soccer Channel (originally Fox Sports World), as well as his leadership role in the creation of the unprecedented Pan-American sports awards show, Premios Fox Sports.
“We at Fox feel honored to have an organization as prestigious as The Imagen Foundation commemorate our everyday efforts, and celebrate our achievements,” said Emiliano Calemzuk. “It is also a privilege to be recognized amongst such talented colleagues for the work I do in content development and distribution.”
Prior to joining Fox Television Studios in April 2007, Emiliano was the president of Fox International Channels Italy, where he managed the operation of ten Italian Fox channels. From his position in Italy, Calemzuk also supervised Fox operations in Spain, France, and Eastern Europe, as well as the National Geographic Channel in Germany and Turkey.
“To be respected for the work we do at Fox Cable Networks is an enormous privilege. We are thrilled and proud to be recognized for our efforts to engage and service the Hispanic community,” said Claudia Teran. “It is even more special to me because it only amplifies the success we’ve had in promoting the growth of Hispanic women within the television industry.”
Claudia oversees the business and legal affairs for several Fox Cable Networks divisions, including corporate and digital media as well as several cable networks. Her work is extensively incorporated with Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports en Espanol in the United States and Fox Sports in Latin America.
