¡Sorpresa! Film competition winner ‘I Want My Parents Back’.

Juniper Content Corporation’s ¡Sorpresa! announced that “I Want My Parents Back” has been selected as the winner of the ¡Sorpresa! Youth Film Competition at the 16th Annual Hampton’s International Film Festival.

“I Want My Parents Back” focuses on the issue of immigration by highlighting the story of the San Diego-based Muñoz family. The documentary, which was a collaboration among eight San Diego-based teenagers, features seventeen-year-old Leslie and nine-year-old Adilene, who recall their parents’ deportation and its effects on their lives.

The 2nd annual special “Luz, Cámara, ¡Sorpresa!”, hosted by award-winning film director Jorge Colon, includes excerpts from the five finalist entries. The network’s original program will premiere on ¡Cine Sorpresa! on Oct. 26 at 8:30 PM EST after an encore presentation of the 2007 special at 8 PM EST.
