UNCOMUN Festival in NYC.

Nolej Studios, a creative digital agency unveils its 360° approach to entertainment by integrating artistry, culture, movement, music and spoken word, in its first annual UNCOMUN festival. This celebration captures the excitement and enthusiasm of New York City‚s diverse arts community. The evening will combine visual arts, literature, rhythmic dance and live musical performances rising reggae star Garrison Hawk, Brooklyn songstress Maya Azucenia and heavy hitters Loud Apt with special guest Bernie Worrel, original founding member of P-funk. The festival kicks off at 7:00pm on Saturday, September 20th at the Public Assembly 70 North 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

“The UNCOMUN festival serves as a launching pad for emerging talent, as well as providing a forum for well established artists to connect with art enthusiasts via the universal language of music”, explains Nevaris co-founder of the UNCOMUM festival. The evening will feature a diverse lineup of live entertainers which include the best underground hip-hop, reggae, rock, funk, electronic and Latin jazz acts in New York City.

The evening line-up begins with an art opening, curated by Jose Ortiz, showcasing international visual artists that include Dionis Ortiz, Sheryone Neckles and Carlos Mateu; words shared by acclaimed writers Ale and Amir Parsa and DJ Alex Barnes; dance performances presented by Areytos Arts featuring their salsa dance theatre production of “What Do You Dance On?” with a cameo performance by the Drag King Elizabeth “La Macha” Marrerro, Indo-contemporary dancer Meena Murugensan, phenomenal tap-funk entertainer Khalid Hill, Full Circle Productions and celebrated modern dancer Katherine Crockett with violinist Eddie Vengas. However, the evening doesn‚t end there, UNCOMUN shifts into acoustic mode with a little ska, rock steady, hip-hop, funk and lots of soul. Enjoy live performances by reggae artist Garrison Hawk, Baba Israel, Rockafella, Sean Schulich, Loud Apt and the highly anticipated appearance by Rock-in-Roll Hall of Famer Bernie Worrell. Still Music will close out the night with DJ sets by Jerome Derradji and Deetron.
