mun2 announced its partnership with Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation committed to raising philanthropic dollars for the acceleration of ground-breaking cancer research. The network will support the unprecedented initiative by donating one hour of commercial-free primetime on September 5th at 8PM.
“The media plays a powerful role in bringing social, political and now health awareness to our nation,” says Alex Pels, General Manager of mun2. “We are very proud to be a part of this great event and are honored to use our network as a vehicle to support the Stand Up to Cancer initiative.”
Stand Up to Cancer is committed to establishing a focused and intense effort to achieve a shift in clinical cancer research. Through collaborative outreach, SU2C calls on the entertainment industry and platforms in an effort to create cancer awareness and promote fund-raising throughout the nation.
mun2 will collectively join forces with Stand Up to Cancer by simultaneously airing the one hour commercial-free fund raising initiative along with other networks including ABC, NBC and CBS. The special will feature live performances by recording artists and celebrity guest appearances, as well as cutting-edge research and informative content by prominent figures in cancer research and patient advocacy. mun2 hosts and stars of the reality series The Chicas Project, Crash and Yasmin will also be taking a stand against cancer by participating in the one-hour event.
