Varela – VP of Public Relations and Client Relations at Hispanic USA.

Jack Varela has joined Hispanic USA as Vice President of Public Relations and Client Services. Varela’s responsibilities will include handling all aspects of communications strategies for promotions, sponsorships, events and media relations. Varela has close to fifteen years of comprehensive marketing experience on both the agency side and the client side. Jose Cancela, Principal of Hispanic USA indicates that, “We have seen more demand from our clients for Marketing and Public Relations support. Jack brings a fresh approach and gives us the expertise to better serve our existing roster in the area of Marketing and PR, as well as the capacity to take on new business”

Prior to joining Hispanic USA, Varela served as marketing director for Blackstone, a national distributor of prepaid wireless products and services. Prior to that, Varela was promotions manager for General Motors R Works where he handled US Hispanic marketing efforts for all General Motors brands for its Southeast Region.

Varela was also a key member on the marketing team at Greenberg Traurig responsible for it’s rapid expansion. Varela had also worked for numerous major US Hispanic agencies including The IAC Group, Publicis Sanchez & Levitan and Ketchum where he managed clients including General Motors, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Chivas Regal, TJ Maxx, HBO Latin America, MGM Latin America, Sprint PCS, Charles Schwab, Delta Airlines, Upjohn Pharmacia and Romero Britto.

Prior to his agency experience he worked for Univision Network and Nickelodeon Latin America where he served as producer and publicist. Jack also earned two Bulldog Reporter Awards for Excellence in Media Relations and Publicity.
