Yolanda Perez to host on LATV.

LATV announced that it had contracted banda music queen Yolanda Perez as the new host for its regional Mexican music program, Mex 2 the Max. Concurrently, the bicultural network announced that its new programming lineup includes LATV-produced as well as international concerts two new music video vehicles and a special video countdown from Universal Studios.

“Yolanda Perez brings a true insider’s perspective to Mex 2 the Max, one of LATV’s signature shows. She is our audience–hip, bilingual and bicultural,” said Luca Bentivoglio, VP Programming, LATV. “Her star power and natural appeal made her the perfect choice to head up this regional music favorite. It’s a great coup for us.”

On Mex 2 the Max, (Monday-Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. PT), Ms. Perez conducts exclusive interviews, introduces live performances and hobnobs with the audience’s favorite celebrities. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Yolanda Perez comes from a family steeped in banda music lore. Her music style effectively mixes the traditional elements of banda with hip-hop and rap. Known as La Potranquita (Little Filly), she easily transitions from Spanish to English in her music. Her new album, “Todo de Mi” (All of Me) was released yesterday.
