Univision announces nominations for 4th Annual ‘Premios de Texas’.

KAKW Univision 62 announced the nominations for the 4th annual “Premios de Texas” (Texas Awards), Spanish-language television’s regional awards show. Chosen by Texas Hispanics who vote online through Univision.com (Keyword: Premios de Texas), this year’s event will take place on August 7, 2008 at 7pm in the newly built Long Center for the Performing Arts. “Premios de Texas” will be broadcasted on August 16th at 10:00 pm on Univision 62. The star-studded awards show will also air on Univision stations throughout the state of Texas (check local listings for timing.)

“Premios de Texas” will bestow awards in 10 categories specifically created to celebrate the preferences of today’s Texas Hispanics. Leading the nominations are DJ Flex, who leads the pack with four nominations in categories like “Best Tropical Artist” and “Best Album of the Year,” followed by Camila and Kanny Garcia, who have both garnered two nominations from categories such as “Best Spanish Rock N’ Pop Artist.”

Ana Maria Canseco, co-host of Univision Network’s popular morning show “Despierta América” (Wake up America), along with nationally syndicated and beloved Spanish radio morning show personality, Raul Brindis will be co-host “Premios de Texas.”

Through Sunday, July 20th, fans can log onto Univision.com (Keyword: Premios de Texas) to vote for their favorite artists and choose this year’s winners. In addition, Univision.com will offer daily access to the latest news, behind-the-scenes videos, and nominee interviews and bios.
