Fútbol de Primera acquires the exclusive U.S. Radio rights to the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Fútbol de Primera announced that it has obtained the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language radio rights for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Next summer, FDP will carry all of the excitement of the highly-anticipated tournament on its Radio Network of 85 affiliate stations, including a record 25 FMs, covering almost 90% of the Hispanic market in the U.S.

With the acquisition of these rights, Fútbol de Primera adds to its already impressive lineup of soccer properties, including the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language radio rights to the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups and the Mexican National Team, among others, and proves that FDP will remain the dominant player in Hispanic Radio Sports Programming.

The agreement covers all of the games played during next year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup, which brings together 12 of the top national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean, including Mexico, Costa Rica, the U.S. and others. Since the Gold Cup was formed in 1991, Mexico and the United States have dominated the championship, winning four titles each, and Fútbol de Primera is proud to be the exclusive radio network bringing its listeners the anticipation and excitement of the teams’ long-standing rivalry as they meet once again at this prestigious tournament.

Andrés Cantor, Fútbol de Primera’s Chairman said, “We are proud that Concacaf once again has chosen Fútbol de Primera as its Spanish language partner for this prestigious tournament. With this latest rights acquisition we have secured all the major soccer properties of the next three years.”
