Rokk3r Mobile, a mobile marketing company with offices in Miami and Colombia, has been formed to work with direct clients, media companies and advertising agencies in Latin America, the Caribbean and the US Hispanic market.

The creation of Rokk3r Mobile is part of DDB Latina’s digital strategy for the region, Juan Carlos Ortiz, president of DDB Latin America and US Hispanic Market, said, noting that Rokk3r’s first partner is DDB Colombia.

German Montoya and Dario Palacio are partners and leaders of this operation and are based out of Miami and Colombia respectively. Both come from Cyclelogic in Latin America, where Montoya was commercial & marketing vice president and Palacio was creative vice president.

Together they have more than 10 years of experience in mobile, developing more than 150 campaigns in 10 countries throughout Latin America and the US. and working for clients that ranged from Nestle to Pepsi, Miller to Heineken and Motorola to Microsoft.

“The secret to success in mobile marketing does not lie in technological platforms, but in the understanding of the brand’s needs, the development of a convergent idea, appropriate management of new technologies, and effective execution,” Montoya said. “That’s a business with infinite potential. Local and multinational brands should consider mobile as an important part of their marketing and communication strategies given that it took 20 years to sell the first billion mobile phones, 4 years to sell the second billion, and 2 years to sell the third billion. Today, 80% of the population has access to mobile networks.”
