Comcast Spotlight & ESPN Deportes National Sports Poll.

ESPN Deportes and Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sale division of Comcast Cable, teamed up to host a luncheon at The Palms in Coral Gables for Hispanic marketing agencies in the Miami area. The luncheon was to share the findings from the first ever national ‘Hispanic Sports Poll’ conducted by ESPN Deportes. The sports poll tracked general fan profiles, viewing habits, sports industry trends and product usage data.

The research indicates that 84% of Spanish speaking Hispanics are sports fans, and they have a high degree of loyalty to sports sponsors. They also have varied sports interests, not just soccer, that they follow and watch on TV. ESPN Deportes is uniquely positioned to meet this diversity of interests with their wide variety of sports programming specifically targeted to the Hispanic audience.

Former Major League Baseball player and current ESPN Sports Center host, Carlos Baerga, addressed the luncheon. During his baseball career, he won several awards and he broke many records. Carlos spoke about the passion that Hispanic fans feel for their favorite sport, and how important their sports are within the Hispanic culture.
