Ruiz joins Peermusic.

Peermusic announced that Angie Ruiz has joined peermusic’s U.S. creative team as Creative Manager for Hispanic Advertising Markets, which will operate under the name “peercommercialmusica.” Angie will be based at peermusic’s offices in Los Angeles.

Ruiz comes to peermusic from Universal Music Enterprises, where she was the Latin Music Coordinator/Executive Assistant in their film and television division. In this role, she spearheaded an industry-wide promotion of Universal‚s Latin initiative helping to create new opportunities for the group in film, television and advertising. Prior to her tenure at UME, Ruiz was a Film and TV Coordinator at Firstcom Music, a division of BMG Music Publishing.

“Angie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this growing market and has a very intuitive understanding of the important role music plays in the Latino community” states Craig Currier, Head of peercommercialmusic, peermusic’s Advertising Markets division. “We’re excited about having her join our team and she’ll be a valuable asset to the agency creatives and brands that come to us to help execute their music and branding strategies.”

In her new role with peermusic, Angie will oversee all aspects of the company‚s Hispanic advertising and branding initiatives including the pitching of peer-music’s deep catalogue of Latin standards with respect to Hispanic markets. She will also be responsible for cultivating relationships with Hispanic agency creatives, music supervisors and Hispanic brand and marketing executives, assisting them to find music within peer’s extensive Latin catalogue to license for products and to help them develop music strategies to reach their targeted audiences. Additionally, Ruiz will develop relationships with Hispanic composers, writers and producers who can provide high quality music for licensing.
