Better Business Bureau advises Wal-Mart to using savings claim.

The National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau has advised Wal-Mart that it should discontinue the use of the implied $2,500 annual saving consumers can enjoy in their advertising.

The claim is that of the “save Money, Live Better’ campaign. Wal-Mart was able to substantiate the claim based on the fact that when a Wal-Mart is present in specific geographic area according to a Global Insights study, the marketplace offered these type of saving due to competitive pricing by all retailers in the area.

According to the BBB, Wal-Mart implied that the consumers that shop at their stores enjoy the savings more than those that shop at other stores.

Wal-Mart has stopped using the claim.
