BMP RADIO beefs up on programming talent.

Border Media Partners announced that well-known Programming Expert “Chayan,” has joined BMP Radio in Austin, TX as Program Director for KHHL 98.5 FM “La Ley” and KFON AM 1490 “Norteño.” Chayan has contributed greatly to the Spanish radio industry for the past two decades, and BMP is pleased that he will be responsible for overseeing Spanish language programming for its Mexican Regional and Norteño properties in Austin. Additionally, BMP has hired top on-air talent Hector Velasquez as its new Morning Show Host on Austin’s hugely popular Mexican Regional Station, KHHL “La Ley!”

Prior to joining BMP, Chayan was the Market Program Director for KLNO, KDXX and KFZO in Dallas. Other U.S. experience includes working at KXYZ with Infinity Broadcasting, and KLVL in Houston, with La Mexicana de Houston. Chayan has a formidable track record working in the Regional Mexican format. Additionally, he has experience working with and developing morning show talent.

BMP also announced that it has hired industry veteran Hector Velasquez as KHHL’s new Morning Show host. Hector Velasquez has over 20 years of broadcasting experience, and has worked across Texas including Dallas stations: KESS, KLNO, and KDXX, and at various stations in the Houston and Austin markets. He is a very popular on-air personality whose show has been syndicated across the state, and he was nominated for a Marconi Award in 2006.
