PlanetWoot announced it has been selected by Coastal Center for Obesity as its Advertising and PR Agency for both the General and Hispanic Markets.
“We are very happy to be working with the PlanetWoot team. The quality of their strategic direction and creativity, as well as a complete understanding of the Hispanic consumer is really impressive,” said Lisa Gladstone, Director of Business Development at Coastal Center for Obesity (www.coastalobesity.com). “They were very touched by our mission of helping combat morbid obesity in the Hispanic community and share our commitment of bringing our message of hope to any Latinos in Southern California who suffer this illness,” Ms. Gladstone added.
Almost one-third of U.S. adults are obese, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). For Mexican Americans the figure is nearly 37 percent. Hispanic children in the United States also tend to be heavier than other American kids, making them more likely to grow up to be overweight adults. Hispanics living in the United States are more likely to be overweight or obese than those in other countries.
Dr. Owens’ Coastal Center for Obesity, based in San Pedro with offices in Orange County and San Diego, is the leader in bariatric surgery for the Hispanic Community of Southern California. Coastal Center for Obesity (www.coastalobesity.com) offers free informative seminars in Spanish and support groups for Hispanics who’s have had weight loss surgery and are looking for emotional support and motivation in their own language, to ensure that their procedure is a complete success.
“As Coastal Center for Obesity’s Advertising and PR Agency we are creating brand strategies and communications messages to inform and educate the diverse Hispanic Community of Southern California about surgical solutions to obesity,” said Barbara Ruano, CEO and Founder of PlanetWoot. “We really like to consider ourselves as marketing partners with our clients, become an extension of their marketing team and work together to achieve the highest potential for the center.”
