National Hispanic Corporate Council announces new Board.

The National Hispanic Corporate Council announced its 2008 board of directors. Michelle Jordan, Senior Manager Strategic Community Partnerships at PepsiCo, Inc. has been elected Chair.

Other officers include Chair-Elect, Yolanda Medina Casey, Project Manager Visual Merchandising for Hallmark Cards, Inc.; Secretary, John F. Sequeira, Senior Diversity Advisor for Shell Oil Company; and Treasurer, Yvonne Vargas, Diversity Manager for The Boeing Company.

Newly elected board members include Eloy Garcia, Senior Marketing Manager, Customer Experience & Innovation, Allstate Insurance Company; and Christian Henning, Executive Researcher with Microsoft Corporation. They join incumbents, Jose “Pepe” Estrada, NHCC’s Immediate Past Chair and Director of Ally Development/Corporate Affairs, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.; Angel Herrera, Regional Vice President for Aramark; Salvador Mendoza, Vice President – Diversity for Hyatt Hotels Corporation; Jon G. Munoz, Program Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sprint Nextel Corporation; Ismael “JR” Ortiz, Director Brand Relations for AARP; Carlos Pagoaga, Director Global Community Initiatives for The Coca-Cola Company; Art Ruiz, Director for State Farm Insurance Companies; and Maria Valentin, Manager Community Relations, ConAgra Foods, Inc.

The board members assumed their responsibilities at the annual board planning meeting in January. They will be formally introduced to the membership at NHCC’s spring meeting, April 22-24, 2008, hosted by State Farm Insurance Companies at their corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois. Diversity and leadership development will be discussed. A pre-conference Think Tank for Supplier Diversity program managers will be held April 22, 2008 at Illinois State University’s Bone Student Center. The
NHCC’s 2008 meeting calendar will include its fall member conference, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia hosted by Turner Broadcasting System at their Tech Wood Campus.
