Sprint brings Juanes closer to You.

Sprint continues its sponsorship of twelve-time Latin Grammy awarding winning artist Juanes, and launches an extensive multimedia campaign providing its subscribers with Latin mobile entertainment as Juanes’ U.S. tour “La Vida World Tour” kicks off on March 6th in New York City.

Adding to the excitement, Sprint is bringing consumers closer than ever before to Juanes with activities at a national and local level, including advertising (broadcast and online), in-store promotions and concert events, in addition to launching a national contest in late March surrounding Juanes’ 2008 U.S. tour.

“Our strategy is about connecting Latinos to what is important to them, and with music being one of their greatest passions, the Juanes sponsorship is a natural fit for Sprint,” said Isaac Mizrahi, director of multicultural marketing for Sprint. “We are providing subscribers with amazing opportunities to get closer to one of their favorite Latin artist.”

Juanes’ fans are able to get up-close and personal with some of his most recent “raticos” through a series of exclusive video mobisodes on their Sprint handset. In addition, personalization content such as ringers, full-track downloads, screensavers and call tones are available for fans who are Sprint customers.

A myriad of exciting Sprint sponsored activities for fans will take place at each concert, including a Juanes trivia contest for prizes, photos with a life size Juanes cut-out, seat upgrades and memorabilia give-aways. As a special treat, attendees will also be captivated by a Sprint-Juanes laser show before the beginning of each concert.

Furthermore, Sprint will air two 30-second commercials starring Juanes showcasing how Sprint brings Juanes closer to you at SprintSpeed. The commercials urge Hispanics to enjoy Sprint’s music and data capabilities, as well as to sign up for the contest.

Sprint’s “A Moment with Juanes” contest encourages consumers to create and submit videos explaining why they deserve to win a chance to meet their favorite artist. The lucky winner will receive an unforgettable “ratico” with Juanes, VIP transportation, accommodations and seating at a concert during the second leg of the tour. The upcoming contest will be promoted nationally through online, in-store, television, radio and Sprint events.
