Telemundo evolves the Upfront process with regional meetings.
January 20, 2008
Telemundo announced that it will launch a series of client development meetings across major US Hispanic ad markets during March. These regional meetings will replace the Upfront presentation traditionally held in New York in the month of May. The announcement was made by Don Browne, President, Telemundo and Michael Rodriguez, Senior Vice President, Sales, Telemundo.
Telemundo is evolving the Upfront presentation process to better serve the needs of advertisers and agencies. Based on last year’s successful client development meetings held in Miami, Telemundo will meet with its major clients across the country to make them part of the development process in a bigger and more collaborative way. They will get a first look at the upcoming season across all its platforms including the broadcast network, its bilingual Latin-youth cable network, mun2 and its internet platform Yahoo!Telemundo.
“Our industry is in a rapid period of change and Telemundo continues to find ways to grow and evolve by partnering with our clients from the ground floor up,” said Browne. “By creating, producing, and owning our content, Telemundo is well positioned to serve our clients across multiple platforms. Our new go-to-market strategy will make our advertisers part of this process and provide them with a unique sales proposition that allows us to create and design mutually beneficial advertising campaigns.”
The client development meetings will take place in key regional markets and will allow for a closer and more intimate dialogue with major clients. Clients will be able to share their strategic vision and needs and jointly with the network’s top executives, explore ways to meet their goals though the network’s multiplatform offering.
“We firmly believe that this new model will leverage our multi-platform capabilities to the benefit of our clients, allowing them to provide input in our development process and get a closer look at what we have in production for the upcoming season in Telemundo, mun2 and Yahoo!Telemundo,” added Rodriguez. “Telemundo has long enjoyed a reputation for meeting clients marketing needs and with this new model we are redoubling our efforts to deliver what they are looking for.”
Telemundo will wrap up its regional meetings with the participation of major clients at the 10th Anniversary of the Billboard Latin Music Awards to be held in Miami on April 10. In addition, Telemundo will be part of NBC Universal’s spotlight event on May 12 that will showcase the full scale of the NBCU offerings in a unique, multi-media, interactive environment. Advertisers will be invited to a Manhattan location to join executives and talent to experience the broad spectrum of advertising opportunities available within NBC Universal.
