Azteca America adds Columbus, OH.

Azteca America announced its 61st market: Columbus, Ohio.

“Announcing a strong affiliate in the Columbus market is a great way to finish out 2007, which has been a year of important development in our network,” said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman of Azteca America.

Coverage in Columbus is effective this week through the Hispanic Media LLC station WCPX-TV, channel 48. This is the first Azteca America over-the-air affiliate in the state of Ohio.

“We’re excited about joining the fastest-growing Spanish-language network in the United States. This is something the Columbus Hispanic community has been awaiting anxiously,” said Luis Orozco, general manager of WCPX.
